Two New Cute Outfits

Finished this cute nightgown for a friend's little girl's birthday...size 3 from Simplicity 2831.  It was easy to make from the pink flannel I purchased at Joann's Fabrics during a big sale.  You can see the 3 buttons but the ruffles on each side of the buttons don't show very well.  Not sure why it is showing sideways as I did rotate it before inserting....oh well.....

The next two are for my granddaughter who lives in England....a cute flannel blouse from McCalls 6156 out of flannel from Joann's fabrics. I made the pink leggings from a pair of pants that I used to wear...they turned out really cute.  Each are size 3.  The flannel shirt ties in the back...so cute!!!!

As you can tell, I use patterns to make clothes from.  I am amazed by the people on Project Runway who can just whip out those patterns on their own.  I am thankful to be able to sew.

Thanks for looking....hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Backpacks for the Grandkids

Here are two pictures of the front and back of a backpack I made for my granddaughter when she was 3.  She is now 9 and it is still used.  I used a backpack that had fallen apart for a pattern and them appliqued the dinosaurs on each side.  When her brother was 2, he wanted to always use hers so I made him one and I will post a picture of it when I can find one.  Wanted to try posting so decided to start with this. Below is a picture of the other side of the backpack.

I usually have to buy the webbing but every now and then come across used webbing off a discarded workout bag.  I now use purse zippers on the backpacks. Thanks to anyone who took a look.
